First Gala of 2012 at Hatfield

All five of those travelling to Hatfield for this gala had cause for nerves, with Lauren & Lucy never having competed at National level before, Chrissie & Susanna venturing into FIG B for the first time, Kensie having hurt her foot the previous day and Josh determined to get back to FIG B. In the event there was at least cause for future confidence with either medals, qualification to finals or good experience to take away with them. To find out more about the results and how Kensie managed with (as was found out after the event) a broken bone in her foot, read the full competition report at http://brentwoodtc.org/hatfield_28-29jan12.htm.

PB Challenge 2012

Members waiting for results of PB Challenge
Saturday afternoon saw our first PB Challenge competition take place. We wanted a competition that was fun for everybody to take part in and we certainly achieved this with a great atmosphere.  Nearly 30 competed, with most taking part in the 'handicap' section of the competition where their scores were adjusted relative to their personal bests.  For a fuller report and individual results check our website at http://www.brentwoodtc.org/brentwood_07jan12.htm.

Schools' Regional Championships - 4th December

With one of our biggest entries at schools for some time we had 19 members representing their schools at this competition and 14 of them have secured places at the Zonal finals in Shrewsbury in January where they will compete against others from the Midlands regions and Wales. Members did particularly well in the Elite groups taking all 4 girls titles available. The total haul of trophies was as follows:
  • Winners - Maddison Merritt (U11 Elite), Olivia Watson (U13 Elite), Susanna Badley (U15 Elite) & Chrissie Law (U19 Elite), Under 11 Novice Team from Long Ridings (Sophie Tyrrell, Mia Gray & Erin Wells) and Under 15 Elite team from Cooper Coborn (Susanna Badley, Lucy Phillips, Emma Brereton & Ellie Guy)
  • Second place - Faith Everett (U11 Elite), Ramiyah Kendall (U11 Novice)
  • Third place - Georgia Tyrrell (U11 Elite)
There were also some very close misses with Sophie Tyrrell just 0.1 off 3rd place in U11 Novice, Emma Heptinstall just 0.1 behind Sophie in 5th and Lauren Michaels just 0.3 behind Lucy in the U13 Elite. For some this was a first ever competitive experience and for them the best result was that they enjoyed the day and are raring to compete again. More detailed results are available on our website at www.brentwoodtc.org/harlow_04dec11.htm.
