GymMark Accreditation
Brentwood Trampoline Club were delighted to hear today that their GymMark accreditation has been approved. The club can now proudly display the GymMark logo (pictured right) and claim to be Safe, Effective & Child Friendly. GymMark is the British Gymnastics' equivalent to the ClubMark accreditation adopted in other sporting disciplines.
Gaining this accreditation was a team effort involving many members of the committee and coaching staff. Well done to all!

Brentwood Academy Club
Brentwood Trampoline Club were delighted to be invited to the launch of activebrentwood yesterday (link here) at the Brentwood Centre. This initiative is being run in conjunction with sportessex (link here) and has two complementary goals:
- to increase the level of participation in sport; and
- to produce 10 performers with the capability to represent GB in the 2012 Olympics and 3 actual Olympians.
Following the presentation our representatives were invited to sit down together with those from other leading clubs and Bob McLintock (currently Chief Exec of Brentwood Borough Council but soon to be taking on a leading role in developing 2012 for the Borough), to discuss what was needed to encourage and develop the Elite end of sport in Brentwood.
Other member clubs are:
- Brentwood Hockey Club
- Brentwood Rugby Football Club
- Brentwood Swimming Club
- Brentwood Volleyball Club
- Champions Academy for Basketball
- Glendene Cycle Club and
- Hutton FC

International Friendship Cup
Two of our members (Matt Wright & Scott Gregory) flew to Kladno (near Prague), last week to compete in this annual friendly FIG-sanctioned international competition. I am awaiting full results and report but in their first ever competitive outing in Synchro Matt & Scott scored an amazing 9.4 in their voluntary for desynch with electronic sensors being deployed to ensure accuracy. Maintaining excellent form marks as well they easily won the men's Synchro against some strong international competition.
Results and pictures will be posted here in due course.
